DIGITAL SKILLS

The Skills4Deca project addresses a key objective of the Digital Europe programme: providing strategic advanced digital skills and ensuring the widespread use of digital technologies across the economy and society for a greener environment. The initiative specifically targets the skills needs of the housing decarbonisation sector, primarily focusing on housing managers and landlords who may not have a digital and technical background.

The concrete objective of the project is to enhance existing bachelor’s and master’s programs at three EU universities with housing decarbonisation skills. To achieve this, we will develop new standalone modules and courses focusing on the use and support of ICT in energy efficiency for housing. This new content will be integrated into existing programs and delivered both in-person and online. Additionally, there will be short programs designed from these new courses.

The rationale of the training is to enable students to deploy digital solutions for smart housing, with a focus on energy efficiency and the EU Green Deal objectives.

The housing sector has fully embraced digital innovation over recent years, creating a movement that shows no sign of slowing down.

Many of these trends will be used to enhance learners’ digital skills.

The target group of the new program includes housing managers, certified construction engineers, building condition evaluators, energy auditors, construction designers, and construction works managers. These professionals critically need applicable knowledge for evaluating technologies that promote well-being and guiding flat owners in making smart renovation decisions.
