DIGITAL TWIN

The Skills4Deca project will develop digital twins as comprehensive BIM packages to serve as a learning and teaching framework for house managers through short courses and as foundational teaching material for new bachelor’s and master’s programs.

The 5D, 6D, and 7D simulation packages for digital twins will advance BIM data, focusing on 7D simulation for facility management.

These packages will compile best practices and structured and unstructured data from various sources, using mathematical, logical, and informational models for processing. They will aid users in decision-making by providing mass-customized digital recommendations, creating decision support systems, and calculating market, customer-perceived, investment, hedonistic, and utilitarian values.

  • 5D BIM: Useful for budget analysis and cost estimation from the project’s inception, enabling project promoters and owners to analyze costs over time.
  • 6D BIM: Analyzes the building’s energy consumption and provides energy estimates at the initial design stages.
  • 7D BIM: Focuses on operations and facility management, tracking important asset data such as status, maintenance/operation manuals, warranty information, and technical specifications.

Using BIM for facility management ensures optimal service delivery throughout the project’s lifecycle.
